Management Mobility Consulting attended the Global Workforce Symposium held by the ERC® in Washington DC from 3rd to 5th of October 2012. Worldwide ERC®, established in 1964, is the premier global professional membership association for workforce mobility. Members include more than 12,000 professionals who are involved in managing or servicing a mobile workforce.

The Symposium was attended by more than 1,500 relocation professionals from over 50 different countries. Key-note speaker was the bestseller author and strategist Kaihan Krippendorff lecturing about how to unleash creativity and to “Outthink the Competition” with a new strategic approach of the “4th Way”.

Important topics of the Symposium were future trends in workforce mobility policies, the eROI (Expatriation ROI), retention from a strategic perspective, emerging markets beyond BRIC, procurement methods and new technologies. Corporate Mobility Benchmarking Workshops and Peer Networking Sessions, open to all symposium members, were some of the highlights as well as the hot topic roundtables about wordwide trends.

Charity events included a “Foundation Bestival” evening programme and a Foundation Walk to benefit the Marshall Legacy Institute for Removing Landmines and the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.
